The Northern Gas and Power van was parked at the Great Annual Savings office at Spectrum Business Park in Seaham on Wednesday May 12 in an effort to attract sales staff to work for them.
Electronic signs posted “we are paying you cash for your hard work” messages, mentioning free massages even targeted by the CEO and founder of Great Annual Savings, Brad Groves.
Founded in 2012, the energy company is headquartered at Baltic Place in Gateshead and employs more than 700 people on three continents.
It is currently aiming to expand in the North East and is looking for sales staff to recruit into its existing team.
Northern Gas and Power’s director of operations Paul Barrett explained that “guerrilla tactics” such as the marketing van are commonplace in the highly competitive recruiting industry and often prove to be effective.
Mr. Barrett commented, “It’s a very competitive market, and guerrilla tactics are one of the recruiting approaches we use that has proven to be very effective on this occasion and has been successful against Utilitywise and Utility Alliance.
